This article provides an insight into the changing competency requirements in the workplace as a result of the digital transformation. It is becoming apparent that transformative and personal competencies are also in demand alongside digital competencies. The article presents challenges and examples of the imparting of best practice within the scope of company-based continuing VET.

Der Beitrag gibt einen Einblick in die sich wandelnden Kompetenzanforderungen am Arbeitsplatz in Folge der digitalen Transformation. Deutlich wird, dass nicht nur digitale Kompetenzen gefragt sind, sondern auch transformative und personale Kompetenzen. Herausforderungen sowie Best Practices bei deren Vermittlung im Rahmen der betrieblichen Weiterbildung werden vorgestellt.

The drawback of many dual study models is that students spend only comparatively short consecutive periods of between four weeks and three months at the company. The content link between theoretical study and practice or training at the company is also not always facilitated in the best possible way. A Bachelor degree course in Systems Engineering has been designed in order to compensate for these disadvantages. The programme is organised along the lines of a part-time model and features digital teaching methods and company-related projects. This article presents the study model and shows how due consideration is accorded to the interests of the cooperation partners involved during the development and implementation process.

Mit den Aktivitäten zum EQR rückte die Validierung nichtformaler und informeller Lernergebnisse in den Fokus internationaler und nationaler Diskussionen auf bildungspolitischer und wissenschaftlicher Ebene. In Österreich wurde zunächst im Rahmen eines umfassenden nationalen Konsultationsprozesses die Vorgangsweise zur Entwicklung eines NQR abgestimmt. Im Beitrag werden diese politischen Rahmenbedingungen einleitend skizziert und in ihrer Bedeutung für Validierungsverfahren veranschaulicht. Der zweite Teil widmet sich Beispielen aus der Praxis und verortet und bewertet sie im Rahmen der nationalen Umsetzungsstrategien.

At T-Systems Slovakia in Košice, eastern Slovakia, 30 trainees started a three-year German-style dual apprenticeship as “Information technology specialists for system integration” in September 2013. In summer 2016 they will be among the first to acquire a Slovakian-German double qualification. The article outlines the concept, initial experiences of implementation and further perspectives.

Ägyptens größtes Kapital ist das Potenzial seiner Bevölkerung. Dies zeigte sich deutlich in der Revolution, deren Initialzündung 2008 in Mahalla von mehr als 240.000 Arbeiterinnen und Arbeitern ausging. Allerdings muss die Qualität der Fachkräftequalifizierung verbessert werden. Deshalb investiert das Land einen Großteil seiner Ressourcen in die berufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung. Die folgenden Ausführungen stellen Beispiele guter Praxis vor, die zur Reform des ägyptischen Berufsbildungsund Beschäftigungssystems beitragen sollen.

The reform of the metal and electrical industry occupations is one of the milestones in the recent history of vocational education and training. It is an excellent example to illustrate why the dual system is a "learning system": The interaction between research, policy and practice in reform projects was and is the best precondition for translating the tremendous complexity that accompanies the development of challenging occupations for training-intensive sectors of the economy into practice-oriented solutions. The reform of the metal and electrical industry occupations still counts among the reference examples of innovative regulatory activity. The vocational teaching objectives targeted, and in particular the promotion of vocational proficiency, are being updated in the current approaches to skills-oriented vocational education and training. A great many lessons for solving challenges in the regulatory work can be drawn from the review in which the pioneers and designers look back once again on significant aspects of this project.

How do standards contribute to assuring quality? In the current issue of BWP this question is discussed not only with regard to the vocational education and training system but also in view of standards, quality concepts and procedures in the general school system, the higher education sphere and the training of vocational school teachers. In addition, the importance of European standards and instruments and their implementation at the national levels are examined. Among the topics discussed in this context is the question of which impulses the GQF is expected to provide for systemic quality development. At the level of learning venues, the contributions deal with the question of how quality standards can be put into practice in in-company training and provide examples of best practice. In his editorial, BIBB President Esser stresses that quality standards are important building blocks for reliably valuating vocational qualifications and thus establish trust in the context of questions of the equivalence of educational qualifications and increased permeability in the education system. Other contributions in this issue deal with national qualifications frameworks and their history, with measures which make it easier to start training in the companies, with evaluation results after testing the recognised occupation of ice cream maker and with an initial assessment one year after the Recognition Act came into force.

In zahlreichen Anwendungskontexten innerhalb Deutschlands, Europas und der Welt, spielen informell erworbene Kompetenzen zunehmend eine Rolle, da erkannt wurde, dass sie eine bedeutende Ressource darstellen und in ihrer Anerkennung ein großes Potenzial für eine Gesellschaft steckt. Dies gilt gerade für das bisher eher an formalen Abschlüssen orientierte Bildungssystem in Deutschland. Im Beitrag werden aktuelle Entwicklungen zur Erfassung von informell erworbenen Kompetenzen beleuchtet. Ziel ist es, anhand ausgewählter Beispiele auf die Potenziale von Entwicklungs- und Transferprojekten, die mit Mitteln des EU-Programms LEONARDO DA VINCI gefördert wurden, hinzuweisen, die Impulse für die weiteren Entwicklungen in Deutschland geben können.

Das Förderprogramm LEONARDO DA VINCI unterstützt seit Jahren die europäische Zusammenarbeitin der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung und trägt somit auch zur Weiterentwicklung des deutschen Berufsbildungssystems bei. Mit dem Programmschwerpunkt LEONARDO DA VINCI Mobilität wurden von 2005 bis 2007 insbesondere Auslandsaufenthalte gefördert, die dem europäischen Austausch und Transfer von innovativen Konzepten und Ansätzen zur Frühpädagogik dienten. So sollte auf die veränderten Herausforderungen in den Kindertageseinrichtungen und den daraus resultierenden Anforderungen an Erzieher/- innen in Deutschland reagiert werden. Durch die Auslandsaufenthalte von Lehrkräften und Auszubildenden entstanden Impulse für die inhaltliche und methodische Gestaltung der fachschulischen Erzieherinnenausbildung, die hier beschrieben werden.
